There's really no way to define who “you” are. Seriously, take a few moments to answer that question. WHO are you? It’s tough, right? Maybe you were able to list out a few things. Maybe you really couldn’t think of anything at all. I may not know you personally but if you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died on the cross for your sins and rose again three days later you are a sister in Christ and I could list several AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL promises that you can claim.
(If you've never accepted Jesus into your heart, and you would like to know more about what that means let us know! We'd love to talk to you about it!)
*You are redeemed.
*You are loved.
*You are sanctified.
*You are forgiven.
*You are made whole.
*You are complete.
Honestly, the list could go on for a long time and you may eventually begin to understand who you are.
Do you know WHOSE you are?
Do you know Jesus? If you know whom you belong to, then you know exactly WHO you are.
Let Jesus define you. Get to know him personally.
Don’t make Him your parents’ God or your churches’ God. Make Him your God. Is there room for him in your life? Do you spend time in His Word? It will change you.
Let Him have complete control of your life, so that in return He can COMPLETE you. Maybe the reason you don’t know who you are is because you struggle with insecurities. You don’t want others to see. You try your hardest to hide it. You’ve done so good at building up the wall of protection, you don’t want anyone to tear it down.
Let God break it.
Let God break you.
Let God in.
Let Him in so that you can know Him.
When you get just a glimpse of the beauty of Jesus, you might see your reflection in the mirror a little differently.
He is kind, loving, gentle, forgiving, beautiful, patient and oh so much more.
If you don’t know Jesus, I can almost guarantee that for the rest of your life you will struggle with not knowing who YOU are.
He, your Creator, knows you deeply. He knows you better than you know yourself. If you struggle with image or any type of insecurity get to know the One who knew you before you were formed.
He knows how many hairs are on you head, how many breaths you will take in your life, and He knows your deepest sins.
He also knows your heart. He knows your dreams and he knows your passions.
*HOW CAN I GET TO KNOW MY CREATOR?*
~Read his Word, DAILY.
Family and fellowship, Bible studies, Bible class, and sermons are great, but they don't sustain you.
Jesus says in John 6:35, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." He is you sustainer!
Talk to Him, cry out to Him.
Do whatever it takes to build that relationship with Jesus.
Knowing your Savior personally will give you more of an insight to who you are.
